Let’s Have Soup!!

For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there I am with them.”

Matthew 18:20

Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God?

1 Corinthians 6:19

And every day, devoting themselves to meeting with one purpose in the temple courts and breaking bread from house to house, they were eating their food with joy and simplicity of heart,  praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding every day to the total of those who were being saved.

Acts 2:46-47

Whenever you and other followers of Jesus meet together in your homes, coffee shops, restaurants, Zoom meetings, WalMart aisles or parking lots, etc., you are being the Church, the Ekklesia! I’ve had some of the most encouraging conversations about faith in those little divine encounters in unexpected places. “Church” isn’t a building with a denominational name attached to it where people meet on Sunday mornings. The Bible is very clear that each follower of Jesus is a temple, a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit. We are His Body, His Bride. He doesn’t reside in brick-and-mortar. He resides in those who have surrendered their lives to Him and declared Him to be Lord of their life.

When friends gather in the local coffee shop and minister to one another heart-to-heart, Jesus is there. I pray your heart is encouraged as you meet with me here! So go gather wherever and know that Jesus is not only with you but in you. A wise Jesus friend once said believers could gather in a dumpster and the Holy Spirit would be there!!

Gather your family and friends into your homes, share your food with joy and simplicity of heart, and share with each other the wonderful things Jesus has done and is doing in your lives, celebrating the victory you have in Him!

My daughter-in-love, Robin, made this Sausage Tortellini soup on our last visit to Missouri. I will share soup recipes in the next several posts because it’s soup weather and soup is easy!! [wink, wink]

This is a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants recipe! No measurements. Just use your cooking skills and enjoy!

Dice onions, garlic, carrots, red peppers, and cabbage. Saute in olive oil with salt and pepper until onions and peppers are tender. Add ground Italian sausage to the veggies and cook until the sausage is done. Add chicken broth [probably 32 oz.], a can of tomato sauce [12-14 oz can], can of tomato paste [6 oz]. Season with desired amounts of basil and Italian seasoning, and more salt and pepper to taste. You can add red pepper flakes for added spiciness.

Bring to a boil and simmer until carrots are tender. Add tortellini and more water as needed as the pasta absorbs the liquids. For extra creaminess, cream cheese can be added. Yum! When the pasta is done, serve with parmesan cheese.
